PMI has announced that those interested in obtaining the Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP) credential can apply to sit the exam starting in mid-January 2014.

The pilot which began last year is now officially over and examinations are scheduled to reopen in late January 2014.

PMI suggests that the PfMP is ideal for portfolio managers who are looking to:

• showcase their ability to manage and align a portfolio of projects and programs
• increase their visibility and value within their organizations
• distinguish themselves in the eyes of their employers
